Can crab's run 5ks?

6:35 am-Brandon and I woke up at the crack o' dawn on saturday morning to run in the Rising Star 5k that was held at Sugar House park to raise money for the lepers in Africa. It was a perfect day for a run and started out being pretty chilly until the sun was up and shining. Brandon did great and ran it in 36 minutes and accomplished his goal. Before the race began, B gave me some supplements to give me energy and keep me going through out the run. Let's just say it did the opposite and made me sick half way through the race! However, I came through and finished. I was pretty dissapointed in myself because I wasn't planning on walking at all or much and ended up walking a lot because I felt nauseous everytime I started running for a while. I still managed to keep my time under 45 min! haha.. we plan on running another 5k in 2 weeks for the cure at the Gateway. This time i'll be back, with a vengeance!

9:00 am-I went home wishing I could take a warm bath and crawl into my covers, but still had a loooonng day ahead of me. So I picked my self up, showered, and headed off to my 10948th bridal shower(only 3 left!). It was fun seeing Kal and all the great things she got for that big day (or night ;) ) It got me excited for when I get to have all these showers... not for a while though!

2:00 pm-Finally had a break to go home and do nothing... that's all I wanted all day long was to lay in my bed and "watch" Lost. Didn't get any further than pressing play because I fell right asleep!

5:30 pm-Woke up, spiffed up a bit, and high tailed my butt over to the boyfriends house. His wonderful parents made reservations for all of us at Willow Creek for the all you can eat king crab... ooooh boy. 5 crab legs, 1 twice baked potato, saute'd veggies and 1 strawberry daiquiri later, we were stuffed full and ready for a nap. Well, the nap never came but it ended up being a great night! That was the first time I've had my own crab. Usually B gets it and I (daringly) help him eat it. I think I was more interested in cracking the legs!

Sunday was a laid back day and kind of sad... Brandon helped me move some furniture to my parents house, where I'll be living for the next few months until I move back out. It should be good for me to be home for a while, but I still don't know how I feel about it! We went over to Brando's grandparents house for a yummy dinner afterwards and it hit the spot! After dinner we headed back to his place and watched yet another awesome game by the Jazz! 3-1... GET IT! To be honest, I am a little burned out with basketball and ready for baseball season and the sun. No more in doors for me! Oh- and for the record, Lake Powell is in exactly 2 weeks :) I am counting down the days!

This is my life saver for today. Seriously, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have coffee to get me goin for the day or even through it! I really need to try getting to sleep earlier because I about drop dead a few hours after being here and it's pathetic. This morning was a drag... I made me a great little cup of Mocha Joe from the breakroom and... BAM! I'm working like a mad wo-man. Ahhh... Thank you coffee for giving me that "pick me up" to get through the day.

Oh- and HAPPY EARTH DAY :)

Earth Day

I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I just can't wait! Tomorrow is Earth Day and this comes out!
Wahoo! I can't wait to see it, it looks super good! So... I challenge you all to be a little more "Earthy" and do that one good act of kindness, but not only toward each other, towards our little Earth! This day just makes me want to "go green" so we have that much more time to live on this planet and make it a better place for us to live. Please don't litter, I can't stand litter bugs. Who do you think is going to clean that crap up? Don't toss your cup out the window b/c you don't want to trash your car, don't throw that cigarette to the ground because it's gross! The earth didn't make you smoke, so don't make it hold your dirty cig! I so wish that the complex I live in had a recycling bin. It makes me cringe everytime I take the daily/weekly pile of ads and all of our many plastic bottles out to the dumpster, when they could get recycled! So give the trees a little "hug" and thank the earth for giving us a beautiful place to live by doing those small (but vital) acts of kindness :) I LOVE Earth Day!

Wonderful weekend

So I had a FANTASTIC weekend. It could not have been better. It was very eventful and full of sun sUN SUN! Friday night we planned, bought, and decorated things for our moving out Jungle party! It was so fun. We all dressed up jungly and had a bunch of friends over. Chelle, Gent and I bought this super fun fabric from Walmart and they were all matching, but all different colored cheetah print and made them into cute little skirts. We did our make up all crazy and colorful and had lots of yummy drinks! It was good seeing some faces that haven't been seen in a while! Saturday morning I was running all around the town to finish up some small touches for everything I needed to do and I planned a brunch for Kalie's bridal shower that was supposed to be! Out of the 11 girls that were invited, only 2 were able to come and so there were four of us who were able to enjoy brunch at the Dodo. I'd say it was a pretty good turn out considering there were only the four of us! I wish I would have remembered to take a picture but as always I forgot everything that day! Well, I hope you enjoyed it Kal and I'm excited for your big day! Oh and big thanks to Shalee and Brinna to come!
So later that day Chelle and I decided it was PERFECT to go on a scooter ride. Perfect doesn't even cut it! The weather was sooo nice so we rode the scooties to the What Women Want Show and I enjoyed the ride more than the expo... it was kind of lame this year. All the booths were either things I wasn't interested in or they all had the same stuff. Probably a good think because I don't think my wallet can handle any more money coming out of that thing this weekend!
Yesterday I woke up at noon thirty after a LOOONNNG fun night and decided it was a good day to be outside all day long and take advantage of this heat! So... I went to the Bees game with the Haskells, Mitch's cousin Sam, and their friend Andrea! They were sooo funny and it was a blast! At first we sat in the sun and our bodies were cooking! Us girls decided to go say hi to their friends and I tagged a long to sit in the shade.. It was so nice outside. My day couldn't have gone better! Later that evening I had dinner with Brandon and his family and afterwards we went back over to the Haskell's and hung out in their back yard. We laughed and laughed and sat outside until 10 at night! It was such a nice day all day long. So.. that's about it for my weekend and I'm not excited that I have to sit in my cubicle, with no windows near by, for 8 long hours today while it's 70 some odd degrees outside!!! ... ughhh-FMLR?! ;) . Lake Powell cannot get here any sooner. I'm ready for that Vaykay!

I think Mother Nature is confused...

What is with these freezing cold, white covered days we've been having the last few days? It was so nice and right when we all thought we'd be able to pull those shorts and tanks out-BAM! Time to throw on the sweaters, scarfs and gloves again. Yesterday I came walking out of the mall to a sunny sky but there were snow flakes fluttering all around and 10 minutes later, STORM. Fabulous... at least I get to go snowboarding one last time this weekend(hopefully)!
So, on a different note, is it just me or have you ever noticed how ignorant people are? Expecially when it comes to going to the grocery store. I feel like whenever I go, it is packed with a bunch of miserable people who have no desire of being at the store. For instance... I had to run to Walmart to get things I need for my Chicken Enchiladas(prob doesn't help that I was at Wally World), and everyone and their DOG has to fill up their cart and see if they can fit into the teeniest tiniest areas and expect everyone to get out of their way. I always try and be polite by saying "excuse me"(with a smile, might I add), but am I the only one who has manners? It's pretty rediculous someone can walk past you, shoulder nudge you, give you that nasty look, and keep walking. Chill people, you're just at the grocery store and there is no need to act like children!
On an even BETTER note... did anyone watch the Jazz game last night against Oklahoma City Thunder? It was awesome! Such a close game and I was on edge the whole 4th quarter. They were tied and had to go into overtime and tied again, until finally my lover D Will, put one up, which helped us win the game! I sooo wish we could have been there. It was pretty intense!
So here is a little update with my lifey...
Work: boring as ever. In the works of looking into a dental office
Living arrangement: only 3 weeks left in our place :( and soon will be roommates with the olds again ;) but only for a short time.
Boyfriend: AWESOME as ever. Besides everyone asking why we aren't getting married yet.. because i'm 21 and we have our whole life for that. No one will ever understand until the big day happends. We're in no hurry lol
Friends: Busy busy busy... need a few more girl friends who I have a lot in common. Problem: trying to find them?
School: No school(for now at least)! Still waiting on SLCC to tell me my start date for Dental Hygiene... debating on going to Esthetician school, and wondering if I will do the apprenticeship(spelling) next year while I wait for my program would start. I would love doing both, just debating on whether or not Esthetician school is worth the cost!
Well... that's about it for today! Sorry there were no pictures! I've been slacking
